Kim DeFrees Name Kim DeFrees cafe@VictoryPeople.org Areas of Ministry The Gapevine Cafe' Family Barb Mosley (Mom) and Chelsea & Kayla Lane (Daughters) Saved I don't remember being saved as a child. I do remember going to church when I was very young and I loved it there. It wasn't until I was a mom (1990) that I gave my heart to the Lord and even after making that decision I chose to "stray." When I came to Victory in 2001, it was not by mistake. I truly felt "called" to go here. I knew that I was supposed to be there. It was shortly after first coming to Victory that I rededicated my life to the Lord. I am so very grateful that we serve a loving and forgiving God. Without Him, I am nothing! My desire is to be who He has called me to be and to do what He has called me to do! I may not have a "traditional" story, but I do know that it's a story that many can relate to and that God make even the darkest life shine with the brightness and beauty of His perfect love. Joined Victory September 2001 Favorite book The only books that I read faithfully are my Bible and my daily devotional books. Favorite food or snack food Pizza or Mexican food...I can't decide Where would you like to visit someday? Aloha...need I say more? What do you do in your free time? I like to go to the movies or just "chill" with my girls. What scripture has impacted you the most and why? Jeremiah 29:11-13; "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil to give you a future and a hope. Then you will upon Me and go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. And you will seek Me and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart." This scripture ios one that I cling to because I know that no matter where I've been, what I've done, or what has been done to me, that God has always thought good for me. He wants me to have that bright future that comes from living a life where He is the center. Even when I was making choices that weren't good, He loved me and wanted better for me. He never left me, He never forgot about me. He was just waiting for me to cry out to Him, to give my life to Him....to ask Him to forgive me and to enable me to forgive myself. I know that you can't give God "half" of your heart. It's all or nothing...I choose ALL! Sure, there are trials, and we all have our "valley moments," but I know that He can, has, and will see me through anything that comes my way. He has brought me so far and blessed me so! To God be the Glory! Most influential person/people in your life My Momma, who has always loved me unconditionally. My daughters, Chelsea and Kayle, who "saved" me in an entirely different way than what I talked about before. Favorite kind of music I love music...many different genres. I don't like the screaming stuff though. More about Kim DeFrees It wasn't long before Kim was making it her goal to get to meet every person that came through the doors of Victory and make them feel the same welcome that she herself had felt. Little did she know at the time that this was a gift. Kim has been able to discover giftings that she didn't know she had, thanks to the guidance of the Pastors at Victory. Why don't you stop by The Grapevine Cafe' when you come in and introduce yourself to her ~ she's looking forward to meeting you! |
