What should I expect if I attend a church service
and what do people wear?

We begin each service with a welcome from the senior pastor Ed Herald and his wife, Beth. A worship time with contemporary music brings us into God's presence for prayer ministry, offering and a time of Bible teaching.

The worship service provides contemporary music, including a keyboard, electric guitars and drums. We believe the music is tastefully done in a manner that exalts the Lord and assists our corporate worship of Him.

Most people at our services are dressed casually, but you will also find people wearing dresses and suits. So dress as you feel comfortable.

What can I expect on my first visit?
From the moment you pull into the parking lot, you'll be made to feel at home. Our friendly ushers are ready to open the doors for you and give directions or answer any questions you may have.

If you have children, you'll want to visit KidzVille, classes and nurseries designed specifically for kids. Throughout the West wing of the building and connected to the back of the Sanctuary, you will find classrooms of various sizes. From discipleship classes to meetings, from children's ministry to adult gatherings, these rooms are used to help people passionately pursue Jesus.

As you enter the sanctuary, our greeters will give you a weekly bulletin, which we call The Weekly. There will also be ushers in the sanctuary to welcome you and assist you in finding a seat. Then relax and enjoy, you will feel the presence of the Holy Spirit as we come together through worship, prayer and a message from the Bible.

Can I meet the Pastor?
Absolutely! Pastors Ed and Beth love to meet people. After Sunday service, they are eager to meet you. Pastor Ed is usually in the lobby after service.

How do I get there?
Our facility is located just 4 miles south of Famous Dave's off of the Morrissey & Veteran's Parkway intersection. The address is 18180 US Highway 150, Bloomington, IL 61705-5805. Here is a map to help you:

Where do I park?
We have parking for you directly in front of the main entrance. If our front parking lot is full, we encourage you to drive around the side of the building where we have additional parking. If you have any questions you are always welcome to ask any of our Victory ushers for assistance.

Who do I ask if I have any questions?
We encourage you to please visit our Greeters at the Information Center located in the Main Entrance of the facility. The Information Center contains information about Victory, the areas of ministry that Victory provides, and how you can enlist your gifts and talents!

Where do I enter the building?
There is one main entrance to the building in the front of the church. Greeters and Ushers will help and greet you when you arrive to direct you where you need to go.

Who is your Pastor?
Ed Herald is our Senior Pastor. Please click here to learn more about Pastor Ed.

Who leads the church?
Victory Christian Center is overseen by our Senior Pastor Ed Herald and elders Danny Dunbar, Ryan Seggelke, Roger Cook, and Bill Swindle. Senior Pastor Ed Herald's pastor, Olen Griffing, serves as an apostolic elder for Victory Christian Center.

What does your church believe and what if I do not agree?
Victory Christian Center loves people and worships God. We are all about leading people into a passionate relationship with Jesus Christ. We believe in intentional worship; developing meaningful relationships; and pursuing a greater impact for Christ in our community. Through God's Word, prayer and worship, we become more like Jesus in understanding and living out a genuine Christian life. To learn more on what we believe please click here.

Who goes to your church?
We have quite a diverse group of people at Victory Christian Center. Our congregation spans all ages. You'll find just about every type of person here – married, single, divorced, widowed – professionals, workers, retired – life-long Bloomington/Normal residents and those who have just recently moved to the area. Some of our attendees even drive from out of town.

But even more important than the kind of people who go here, is the kind of people who are welcomed here – everyone!

Do I have to belong to your denomination to attend?
Not at all! In fact, many in our congregation come from a church background. We have many former Catholics, Methodists, Presbyterians, Episcopalians and Baptists. You are welcome at Victory Christian Center.

Can a visitor take communion?
Yes! We take communion the second Sunday of the month as a reminder of God's gift to us in Jesus Christ. We believe in open communion – that means that anyone who believes in Jesus Christ is welcome to take communion, whether they are a church member or not.

When do water baptisms occur?
Baptisms occur the 4th Sunday of the Month. Interested in being baptized? Please contact Elder Ryan Seggelke today to sign-up.

How do I become a member?
The Victory Adventure is a four-part course connecting you to Victory's vision, spiritual growth tools, and Kingdom participation and opportunities. We don't want to just add your name to a membership roster. We want to add your story, gifts and talents to the ministry of Victory Christian Center.

To register, learn more, or find out when the next class will be held, please click the CONNECT menu above and select JOIN THE ADVENTURE. What kind of outreach is the church involved in?
Victory Christian Center believes in getting outside the walls of the building. Victory's outreach opportunities range from Sunday food drives, to projects with Habitat For Humanity, to serving with Home Sweet Home Ministries and more. For a current list of opportunities click here.

Is it OK to bring my children into the worship service?
Yes, this is not a problem. Some young children may find it difficult to leave their parents in an unfamiliar setting. They are always welcome to participate in our children's program, KidzVille, whenever it's most comfortable for you.

Where do I take my children?

KidzVille
Check-In opens at 9:45am every Sunday morning before the worship begins in the sanctuary. Everything that we do in KidzVille can be summed up in three words:
          Knowing     Loving     Living
KidzVille is all about teaching our children how to know God and His Word, love God and others, and, ultimately, how to live it out!

STAFFED NURSERY (Newborn to 18 months)
Our nursery is designed with one thought in mind: Every little baby that is in this room feels and knows they are loved. Each leader that is serving in this room will pray over each baby, speaking life and truth over their lives.

BAIT & TACKLE SHOP (18 months to 3 years)
Our toddler room is always in a state of motion. We understand the little ones love to run around and play games with each other. But we also know that at this age their minds are like little sponges. Each Sunday we teach the children a Bible lesson which includes an activity. These children may be young, but they are quick to learn!

PET STORE (3 years/potty trained and 4)
When creating this room, we made sure to set up a play area for games. This is a great age to teach the children about rules and responsibility. Our main focus in this room is to help the children know that they can trust in God. We also use this time to develop relationships with the children.

THE KINDERGARTEN CAFE (kindergarten only)
At this age level we start to teach and show children that they can have a personal relationship with God - we want them to know and understand that God is more than just what is shown in the pages of the bible - He is an all powerful being that wants to be part of their lives. We do this in part by sharing our own experiences and by showing how God helped the people in the bible.

KV THEATRE ROOM (Grades 1st to 4th)
In the KV Theatre classroom we go deeper into God's Word by teaching the children why we believe what we believe. We also teach and lead the children to understand what real prayer and worship time with God is all about. Children share prayer requests and even answered prayer to build their faith.

Do you have something for students?
